About PathWize College
& Career Consulting
About Me
Hi, my name is Julie Kutsner!
I am an Independent Educational Consultant and founder of PathWize College & Career Consulting LLC, based in Colorado Springs.

With over a decade of experience supporting high school students and families, I help make the journey beyond graduation feel clear, thoughtful, and manageable. I began my career as a public high school counselor, where I supported students academically, emotionally, and in their postsecondary planning. While I loved all aspects of being a counselor, I was most drawn to college admissions and career exploration—working closely with students on research, planning, and next steps.
As my role as a school counselor grew, I realized I wanted more time to do what mattered most to me: building meaningful relationships and creating personalized plans for students’ futures. That vision led me to start PathWize.

Today, I work with students in grades 8–12 on college research, applications, essays, major and career exploration, and experiential opportunities. My approach is student-centered and holistic; I take the time to truly know each student so their plan reflects who they are, not just what’s expected of them.

I hold a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and am a proud associate member of IECA (Independent Education Consultants Association), NACAC (National Association for College Admissions Counseling), RMACAC (Rocky Mountain Association for College Admissions Counseling where I serve as the Executive Assistant), and CCC (College Consultants of Colorado). When I’m not working with students, you can find me enjoying the mountains, spending time with my family, or learning a new craft—I’m always curious!

I’d love to partner with you and help your student feel confident and supported every step of the way.

My Philosophy
At PathWize College & Career Consulting, I take a holistic approach to planning for life after high school—one that centers on the whole student, not just applications or outcomes. I help students understand who they are, clarify what matters to them, and connect their education to a future that feels meaningful and achievable.
What sets my work apart is depth and personalization. Through intentional self-discovery, career
exploration, and practical skill-building, I create pathways that guide students—whether college-bound, exploring alternative options, or already in college—toward confident, well-informed decisions.
Grounded in empathy, adaptability, thoughtful research, and building collaborative relationships, my goal is simple: for every student and family to feel seen, supported, and capable of moving forward with clarity and confidence.
