About PathWize College
& Career Consulting

About Me

Hi, my name is Julie Kutsner!

I am an Independent Educational Consultant and founder of PathWize College & Career Consulting LLC, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

With over a decade of experience supporting high school students and their families, I help make the journey beyond graduation feel clear, thoughtful, and manageable. I began my career as a public high school counselor in Colorado, where I supported students academically, emotionally, and in their postsecondary planning. While I loved everything about being a counselor, I found myself being drawn to college admissions and career exploration. As my role as a high school college & career counselor at Cheyenne Mountain High School grew, I realized I wanted more time to do what mattered most to me: building meaningful relationships and creating personalized plans for students’ futures. That vision led me to start PathWize.

Today, I work with students in grades 8–12 on college research, applications, essays, major and career exploration, and experiential opportunities. I also help students in college determine their next steps through career development, branding, and skills development. My specialities include helping swimmers and divers, XC, and track athletes and supporting Type 1 diabetics as they move into independence.

I hold a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and am a proud associate member of IECA (Independent Education Consultants Association), NACAC (National Association for College Admissions Counseling), RMACAC (Rocky Mountain Association for College Admissions Counseling where I serve as the Executive Assistant), and CCC (College Consultants of Colorado). When I’m not working with students, you can find me enjoying the mountains, spending time with my family, or learning a new craft—I’m always curious!

I’d love to partner with you in either a college counselor or career consultant role to help you and your student feel confident and supported every step of the way.

My Philosophy

At PathWize College & Career Consulting, I take a holistic approach to planning for life after high school or college. This approach centers on the whole student, not just applications, skill-building, or outcomes. I help students understand who they are, clarify what is important to them, and connect their education to a future that feels not only personalized but achievable.

My approach is student-centered; I take the time to truly know each student so their plan reflects who they are, not just what’s expected of them.

Through intentional self-discovery, career, skill-building, and personalized branding, I create pathways that guide students, no matter where they are in their journey, toward confident and well-informed decisions.

I work hard to ensure my consulting revolves around empathy, adaptability, thoughtful research, and building collaborative relationships. My goal is simple: for every student and family to feel seen, supported, and capable of moving forward with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
